Alstom to Provide Train Control and Signalling for Delhi MRTS Phase-IV

Alstom has been awarded contracts worth 54 million EUR to provide train-control and signalling systems for Delhi MRTS Phase-IV.

This phase will extend line 7 of Delhi’s mass rapid transit system from Mukundpur to Maujpur and will introduce line 10 from Aerocity to Tughlakabad.

Delhi Metro Alstom
The Delhi Metro network currently spans 391 kilometres and serves 286 stations

These lines will be equipped with Alstom’s communications-based train control solutions (CBTC), which will operate alongside its automatic train supervision (ATS) system.

This is expected to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%, while also improving capacity, reliability and safety on the metro lines.

The contracts build on Alstom’s long-standing relationship with Delhi Metro, as the manufacturer has delivered more than 800 metro cars for the network. In addition, Alstom has also recently been contracted to supply 312 standard gauge metro cars for the Delhi Metro Phase IV expansion.
