The agreement dating to 6 May 2019 covered the delivery of four new six-axle Dragon 2 electric locomotives, including two equipped with a diesel access module. The delivery schedule requires all four locomotives to be delivered by the third quarter of 2020. The contract is co-financed by the Centre for EU Transport Projects.

Laude Smart Intermodal wishes to purchase locomotives to optimise the transport of heavy and standard loads that are currently moved between EU countries and eastern European countries by road. The company runs rail transports between Russia and the EU with its own standard and broad-gauge rolling stock.

The Dragon 2 locomotive has a very high tractive force. It also has an effective anti-slip system and all-wheel drive, making it suitable for heavy loads. The vehicle has converters based on silicon carbide (SiC), allowing it to operate without problems at high temperatures, reduce noise levels, and reduce energy loss by half.

The Dragon 2 locomotive is the first locomotive in the Laude Smart Intermodal fleet.
