Stadler Rail has won the tender to provide the Swedish rail company Malab with 33 four-part KISS double-decker trains. The contract includes 110 options.

The total order volume amounts to approximately 3.5 billion Swedish kronor, which is roughly 400 million Swiss francs. The first vehicle will be delivered in 32 months. The trains, which have a maximum speed of 200 kilometres per hour, will run in the area around Lake Malaren, to the west of Stockholm. The vehicle bodies were adapted to fit the Swedish clearance profile, which is higher and wider than the Swiss standard.

First Order from Transito Agreement.

This order is the first call-off from the framework agreement with Transitio, which was concluded last year. Only the participants in this framework agreement were invited to tender. Alongside Stadler Rail, this included Bombardier and CAF. Stadler Rail is the only supplier that signed the framework agreement for two different vehicle types the single-decker FLIRT and the double-decker KISS trains.
