PKP Energetyka S.A. has been operating in the Polish market since 2001. The main task of the company is to sell and supply electricity to traction and business customers. The company also specializes in the provision of services in the field of maintenance and emergency response of railway networks, operates service stations for diesel locomotives. It has 20,000 km of distribution network and has a fleet of highly specialized trains and railway equipment throughout Poland. PKP Energetyka is owned by one of the largest investment funds in the world – CVC Capital Partners.

Business Situation before the Implementation of RAILSoft

When implementing the required business processes, PKP ENERGETYKA did not have a system solution, and its activities were based on MS Office tools and railway paper documents. These solutions did not provide adequate security, transparency of editing and access to information in real-time.

Solution

The implemented system provides comprehensive support for all processes related to financial and resource and process controlling, as well as rail traffic logistics, maintenance of rolling stock and infrastructure, employee management, railway safety (BRK), as well as planning and implementation of transport. Inside the software, all the most important company resources are defined, i.e. 185 traction vehicles and 407 wagons constantly operated by 522 office users and 1306 mobile devices operated by drivers and auditors using the RAILSoft system.
