German tram network expansion given the go-ahead

The all clear has been given for work to commence on a German tram network.

Completion set for 2015

Gera’s metre gauge network is set to be expanded as part of a €53 million project. Subject to the approval of funding, work will begin early next year with proposed completion set for 2015.

Modernisation

Modernisation will take place on existing tracks at Bieblach-Ost, Wiesestrabe and Lusan. In addition to this, a Line 4 will be introduced from Berufsakademie to Langenberg.
