Knorr-Bremse has signed a long-term service agreement with Stadler, covering maintenance, repairs, and the supply of spare parts for the braking systems of trains and wagons across Europe.
This contract is set to run until the end of 2028 with a possible extension. It aims to enhance fleet efficiency, reliability, and longevity for Stadler’s trains.
Under this agreement, Knorr-Bremse RailServices will provide tailored solutions to ensure optimal train availability throughout Europe.
“High availability of trains on the route is the focus of the interest of rail vehicle manufacturers and operators. With our innovative service offering for our highly developed technologies, we offer suitable solutions that have convinced Stadler. In addition, our service offerings are once again proving to be an important and long-term success factor in the aftersales business, which has a decisive influence on customer loyalty, trust in our solution expertise and new business.”
In addition to maintenance services, the contract involves supplying spare parts for various brake system components. Knorr-Bremse RailServices will provide these locally through its facilities in Switzerland, Germany and Hungary.
Over 20,000 brake calliper overhauls are planned during the contract period, contributing to smoother train operations and reduced material usage.
“With this important service order, we are expanding our long-term relationship with Stadler to include a new chapter. We are pleased to be able to contribute to even greater train availability, safety and efficiency with our solution offerings across the entire life cycle of large train fleets operating in several European markets. With our locations close to customers, we can meet Stadler’s service requirements quickly and reliably with manufacturer quality and at the same time enable planning security.”
This collaboration marks an expansion of the longstanding relationship between Knorr-Bremse and Stadler, following projects such as the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe subway equipment contract and the VDV TramTrain project.
