LRW Purpose
The business and purpose of this professional association is to connect and cultivate women in rail, thereby promoting diversity and improving the business results of the railroad industry. LRW will advance the representation, recognition, and opportunities for women in the railroad industry by providing networking opportunities, sponsoring industry educational activities, and supporting mentoring partnerships.

The benefits of becoming an LRW member include:
- LRW Annual Conference – All LRW members are encouraged to attend our 2020 Annual Conference, which will be held online October 19-23, 2020. Our 2021 Annual Conference will be held during Railway Interchange on September 26-28, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- LRW Scholarship Program – LRW members are eligible to apply for our Connie Sumara Memorial Scholarship which is awarded each year to a qualified student from the rail industry who is pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
- Quarterly Newsletters – Our Women on Track newsletter serves to keep you informed on the happenings of the LRW, important industry events, professional development, and women advancing in our industry.
- Website – Our members-only section of our website offers a membership directory, exclusive access to our webinar archive, discussion and job boards, committee pages, and an easy membership renewal portal.
- Exposure – Our membership is diverse and represents many segments of the rail industry and various job titles, this diversity creates a well-rounded organization that exposes members to other parts of the industry as well as other career opportunities.
