Battery, Trolley and Diesel Locomotives

We have a comprehensive range of locomotives, including battery, trolley and diesel locomotive designs, with operating weights ranging from 1.75 to 40t; designs are often custom built to suit a client’s specific requirement.  We also have a range of explosion proof battery locomotives developed for the British coal mining industry, which are up to 30t in operating weight and 224kw.

Turnkey Haulage Systems

Additionally we can supply haulage systems on a turnkey basis, including locomotives, rolling stock, track, turnouts, transformer rectifiers and trolley wire installations. Our in house 3D CAD design capability allows the production of equipment to the latest European standards, which in itself gives potential markets outside of Europe a degree of comfort in the knowledge that our equipment is designed and developed with safety very much a dominant feature.

Locomotive Aftermarket Parts

A comprehensive range of parts for the after market is held in stock at all times and consignments can usually be despatched to anywhere in the world within a matter of hours.

Mining and Tunnelling Locomotives

The export market has always played a major part in our order intake and we have exported to mining and tunnelling companies in over 60 countries around the world.  A network of agents and regular visits from Clayton Engineers help enormously in this respect.
