The groupement des autorités responsables de transport or GART (Association of Transport Authorities) is a French Association founded in 1980

Founded in 1980, the GART acts in favour of the development of public transport and alternative modes for the individual use of the car. As a key player in sustainable mobility, the GART shares the major challenges of the sector with its members, more than 250 transport organising authorities, and defends them at all levels where public policy is determined.

The GART is a resource centre based on elected representatives of various political sensitivities and a team of technicians serving the members. They thus benefit from a set of concrete services and proximity that allow them to optimise their role as organising authority.

Through its three working groups (Bus & Coach, Tramway and Cable Transport), GART is simultaneously monitoring the technological developments of rolling stock, energy and infrastructure, as well as the legislative advances necessary for the emergence of new technologies. modes of transport like the urban cable car.
