According to the latest figures, the loading volume on the network owned by Russian Railways in August 2016 amounted to 105.9 million tons, 0.7% more than in August 2015.

According to the latest figures, loading in January-August 2016 amounted to 809.6 million tons, which is 1.6% more than the same period in 2015.
Between January and August 2016, the railways loaded the following categories of freight:
-Coal – 214 million tons (+ 3.2% compared to January-August 2015);
-Coke – 7.7 million tons (+ 2.7%);
-Oil and petroleum products – 156.6 million tons (-7.5%);
-Iron and manganese ores – 73.2 million tons (+ 1.3%);
-Ferrous metals – 47.3 million tons (-1.8%);
-Ferrous metal scrap – 9.6 million tons (-4.7%);
-Chemical and mineral fertilisers – 35 million tons (+ 2.7%);
-Cement – 18.6 million tons (-5.3%);
-Timber – 29 million tons (+ 7.9%);
-Grain – 11.1 million tons (+ 5.4%);
-Construction materials – 97.9 million tons (+ 17.2%);
-Non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock – 14.2 million tons (+ 4.7%);
-Chemicals and soda – 16.9 million tons (+ 2%);
-Industrial raw materials and moulded materials – 22.8 million tons (+ 1.4%).
-Freight turnover since the beginning of 2016 amounted to 1,536.4 billion tariff ton-kilometres, an increase of 1.5%. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted to 1,966.2 billion ton-kilometres, a rise of 1.2%.
