Goldschmidt Receives Approval from the German Federal Railway Authority for the LRB®26 Road-Rail Vehicle
Osby, 7 July 2026: Goldschmidt Sweden AB, a specialist for road-rail vehicles and part of the Goldschmidt Group, has received official authorisation from the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA) for the commissioning of its LRB®26 road-rail vehicle on the German market. This achievement is of strategic importance for the entire group and underlines its high level of technical expertise in the development of modern railway construction vehicles.

Designed for the maintenance and construction of rail infrastructure, the LRB®26 vehicle is now approved for operation on the German rail network. The road-rail vehicle is specially designed for overhead line work and is equipped with a hydrostatic drive system and a swivelling railway bogie, enabling quick and easy transitions between road and rail. The authorisation confirms that the vehicle complies with the applicable requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/797 on the interoperability of the rail system, Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/545, EN 15746-1 (working and travelling), EN 15746-2 (safety) and EN 15736-3 (running mode) and the relevant German national regulations.
Dr.-Ing. Georg Friberg, CEO at Goldschmidt Group, said:The approval by the German Federal Railway Authority is a strategic success for the entire Goldschmidt Group. It demonstrates our ability to meet the highest standards in terms of safety and technical excellence. This achievement strengthens our position as a system provider for modern track construction and maintenance.
Stefan Magnusson, Managing Director at Goldschmidt Sweden AB, said:This approval not only confirms that the LRB®26 is a compliant and safe vehicle but also establishes a solid technical and regulatory foundation for our other current and future vehicle approvals. A key factor in reaching this milestone was the active support of our customers, which contributed significantly to this success.
With the authorisation now granted, the Goldschmidt Group further strengthens its position as a leading provider of state-of-the-art road-rail vehicles for railway infrastructure whilst also laying the groundwork for the approval of further vehicle types.
