Vehicle testing on traditional Upper Bavarian line.

As of 9 August 2023, Robel Holding GmbH (ROH) holds a 24.7% stake in Chiemgauer Lokalbahn Betriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (CLB). CLB is the lessee of the Bad Endorf – Obing railway line, which has already been used by Robel for the commissioning, test runs and acceptance of rail-bound vehicles since 2016. Tobias Scharbert, Head of Test Field & Commissioning at Robel Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH, becomes the new Managing Director Infrastructure at CLB.

A cooperation from which everyone benefits: Robel machines are tested on the track in real use, the customer receives a product that is immediately ready for operation, the association a boost for infrastructure work. With the participation that has now taken place, Robel is consolidating its access to an 18 km long and topographically ideally suited test track in the immediate vicinity of the production site in Freilassing. At the same time, the CLB association benefits from the support and maintenance expertise of the machine manufacturer.

Manuela Ruhland, Head of Business Development ROBEL Holding, said:

“Testing the maintenance machines under real conditions enables us to deliver machines that are immediately ready for use when handed over to the customer. Thus, the cooperation with CLB has proven to be a guarantee for customer satisfaction for many years. A nice side effect: together with CLB, we contribute to preserving historically grown, Bavarian Lebensraum.”
