New Piccadilly Line Trains to Commence Testing in Germany

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that the first of its new Piccadilly line trains have arrived in Germany for testing ahead of starting passenger service in 2025.

The new vehicles are being manufactured by Siemens Mobility, who will produce 94 new ‘Inspiro London’ trains for the London Underground network.

Once testing is complete, these units will replace trains dating back from the 1970s which currently operate on the underground line.

They will consume 20 percent less energy than their predecessors and will increase capacity by 10%.
