InnoTrans 2026 brought the rail industry together in Berlin from 22–25 September, with the 30th anniversary edition setting new records for visitor numbers and exhibitors.
With 3,190 exhibitors, 180 world premieres, and 113 vehicles on display, here are the key numbers from this year’s event.
175,000 Trade Visitors
Approximately 175,000 trade visitors from more than 120 countries attended InnoTrans 2026, making it the most visited edition in the event’s history.
The figure represents an increase of more than 5,000 visitors compared with the 2024 edition.
3,190 Exhibitors
A total of 3,190 exhibitors from 59 countries took part in InnoTrans 2026, around 200 more exhibitors than in 2024. Included in this total, 750 companies exhibited at InnoTrans for the first time.
200,000 Square Metres
The entire 200,000-square-metre exhibition area at Messe Berlin was fully booked for the 2026 edition.
The exhibition occupied 42 halls, alongside the outdoor and track areas.
180 World Premieres
Exhibitors presented 180 world premieres during InnoTrans 2026, covering technologies across rail, public transport, infrastructure, interiors and tunnel construction.
Artificial intelligence, digitalisation, automation, cybersecurity and alternative propulsion were among the major themes across the event.
113 Vehicles, 11 Tracks
The outdoor and track areas featured 113 vehicles from 17 countries. The area included 11 tracks, providing space for exhibitors to display full-size rail vehicles and demonstrate technologies to visitors.
The rolling stock on display included battery, hydrogen, hybrid and conventional electric vehicles, as well as new locomotive platforms.
59 Countries
Exhibitors came from 59 countries, highlighting the international nature of InnoTrans.
Meanwhile, visitors travelled to Berlin from more than 120 countries, spanning Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East, Africa and other markets.
90%+ Visitor Satisfaction
A representative survey of InnoTrans participants found satisfaction levels of more than 90% among trade visitors.
30 Years of InnoTrans
The 2026 edition marked 30 years since the first InnoTrans. The event has grown into a major international meeting point for the rail and wider transport technology industries, with its 15th edition taking place in Berlin this year.

InnoTrans is divided into five exhibition segments:
- Railway Technology
- Railway Infrastructure
- Public Transport
- Interiors
- Tunnel Construction
Artificial intelligence was also one of the defining themes of InnoTrans 2026.
The event introduced its first AI on Track hackathon, alongside the AI Mobility Lab, while exhibitors demonstrated applications ranging from maintenance and diagnostics to automation and operational systems.

Messe Berlin will next take its InnoTrans concept to Asia, with InnoTrans Asia scheduled for 7–9 September 2027 at Singapore EXPO.
For the main event, the next InnoTrans will return to Berlin in 2028.
