Talgo has unveiled a passenger coach for its new FlixTrain unit during InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin.
The coach forms part of a firm order for 30 trains as part of a contract for up to 65 high-speed trains valued at 2.4 billion EUR, and is baed on the Talgo 230 platform.
These trains will offer full accessibility from the platform level, as well as a high level of system digitalisation.
Each unit will consist of an end car with a driver’s cab, a variable number of high-capacity intermediate passenger cars (including one for People with Reduced Mobility (PRM)) and an end car that will act as an interface with the locomotive.
Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 230 km/h; Talgo’s 230 Intercity platform is equipped with Wi-Fi, at-seat infotainment services, individual lighting, plug sockets, enlarged luggage spaces, a modern WC and high-endurance HVAC systems.
The new trains are expected to enter service both in Germany and across other European markets from 2028.
