DB Cargo Belgium Runs Trains under Belgian Licence

DB Cargo Belgium has started running trains under a Belgian licence for the first time.

Since 14 June, DB Cargo Belgium has been operating entirely under its own licence, meaning it is now an accredited railway company in Belgium.

In January 2020 DB Cargo Belgium obtained the necessary safety certificates. However, the company decided to wait to start up operations until the new software went live.

DB Cargo Belgium has partnered with CRX Software for the implementation of the enterprise resource planning package ‘RailCube’. This software package manages the entire production from A to Z. It has Infoland for Iprova as a platform for the safety management system.

The first train departed Germany near Aachen on 14 June. It travelled to Erquelinnes on the French border. Colleagues from DB Cargo Belgium’s sister company Euro Cargo Rail took over the train.

DB Cargo Belgium first started operations under the Dutch flag on 1 January 2019. The company, which has 194 employees, is hoping to integrate the port of Antwerp along with Rotterdam in the Netherlands more deeply into its network by the end of 2020.
