The dexterity and adaptability of our elevated cable management system ARCOSYSTEM® was put to the test during a recent installation in the German town of Gössnitz.
The project involved installing a run of the lightweight ARCOSYSTEM® trackside, fixing the troughing to a line of balustrades serving as roadside barriers as the route led to the railway station in town.
Gössnitz, based in the Altenburger Land district about 40 miles south of Leipzig, is at the junction of three railway lines — the Leipzig-Hof, the Glauchau-Gössnitz, and the Central Germany Gössnitz-Gera service — and is known for having one of the longest platforms in the country at 608 metres.
Securing convenient trackside access for the job was difficult, and after thorough planning it was decided that the best strategy would be to fasten the troughing to the balustrades.
ARCOSYSTEM® is designed to be flexible so it can be successfully installed in a variety of challenging settings and circumstances. Made from pultruded fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP) and supported by bespoke laser-cut steel bracketry, it is usually post-mounted but can also be wall-hung or attached to a range of lineside structures — such as a roadside barrier in this instance.
Exclusively distributed in the UK by Complete Composite Systems, ARCOSYSTEM® is an innovative cable management solution offering long-term durability in all weathers and speedy installation with its lightweight troughing able to span six metres between supports. It is manufactured by our Swiss partners, Castioni Kabelführungssysteme GmbH, while the exclusive UK rail stockist is Scott Parnell.
