When it comes to traditional repairs to frogs and diamond inserts, they often last weeks to a few months before requiring additional maintenance. These specialty track components consist of high manganese steel, which is known for its work-hardening characteristics and toughness, but the base material cannot exceed 500 degrees Fahrenheit during the repair process. Holland has developed a specialized welding process for these components, to maximize weld material deposition while keeping the base material temperature below 500 degrees.

Holland’s enhanced material deposition rate combined with automated and repeatable wire feed has demonstrated excellent wear resistance and has proven to handle heavy MGT. Recent data has shown our HAMR-welded frogs lasting over 6 months with some over 50 MGT in-track. See how we proved HAMR’s performance below.

With HAMR repaired frogs and diamonds lasting longer, your teams can better prepare maintenance plans throughout the year and save money by eliminating frequent maintenance done after traditional repairs and decreasing slow orders on your network.
