Pandrol Joins Women in Rail and Railway Industry Association EDI Charter
Developing a more inclusive and diverse workforce is one of our most important goals at Pandrol. That’s why we’re so excited to have signed up to the Women in Rail and Railway Industry Association Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Charter.
The joint charter is a commitment to work together to build a more balanced, higher performing sector and has been backed by over 140 organisations, including Network Rail, Siemens, HS2 and Alstom. In signing up to the Charter, Pandrol has pledged to:
- Agree an action plan for change, and monitor and report on progress
- Provide EDI training and materials for employees, to support the progression of diverse individuals into senior roles
- Create a safe workplace culture that fosters inclusion, provides a safe space for all employees to talk openly, and challenges and condemns discrimination
- Make recruitment and progression routes accessible to all, in order to attract, retain and develop people of all backgrounds.
As a measure of our commitment to the aims of the Charter, our CEO Eran Gartner has agreed to represent Pandrol as our ‘EDI Champion’.
“Long term, our work with these organisations will lead to more opportunities for women in the industry. From work experience and placements, to finding careers in under-represented roles, we will be improving our own facilities and making more changes to attract female staff – particularly in technical areas and engineering disciplines.”

Supported by Kim Spence, Pandrol’s Head of Engineering and Support and Unite representative David Mills, Pandrol will be one of the first rail manufacturers to commit to the charter.
