Nomad Digital, specialist in transport connectivity solutions has signed a 4-year base frame contract (with an option for a 3-year extension) to upgrade the SNCF Voyageurs high-speed trains (TGV INOUI) with its Internet On-Board (IOB) 5G solution.
The frame contract includes the upgrading of up to 355 TGV INOUI high-speed trains across France, as well as the operation and maintenance of the Internet On-Board solution to cover monitoring, reporting and train intervention services as part of a service level performance agreement.
The award was the result of a comprehensive Public Tender exercise over 9 months and Nomad Digital is proud of this renewed confidence from SNCF Voyageurs for its technical expertise and leadership in the on-board connectivity market.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this high-profile contract as we look to further strengthen our relationship with the customer and consolidate our leading IOB position in the French market. Enhancing the passenger experience is central to SNCF Voyageur’s vision to improve on-board services in an increasingly competitive market environment – we are grateful in the trust and confidence that SNCF Voyageurs has shown in us to help deliver this vision with innovative products and services.”
The deployment of this solution will help to enhance the passenger experience by enabling a seamless internet connection on board. This will allow the millions of passengers carried by the TGV INOUI high-speed trains each year to utilise their travel time by working or browsing online during their journey.
With this proven connectivity solution, Nomad Digital is renewing its commitment to the development of sustainable transport, helping to make rail more attractive and position it as the preferred mode of public transport.
