With regards to the railways, Transdev is to operate the trains on the Roslagen railway network, which measures 65km with 38 stations. It is a suburban rail network departing from Stockholm East Station. It is made up of three lines, which serve Kårsta, Österskär and Näsbypark. Transdev will start operating these services in April 2021 under a contract that will run until 2033 (12 years).

During the contract term SL will invest in the Roslagen network, constructing double tracks and a new depot in Vallentuna. SL will also build a new station in Arninge.

Between 2022 and 2024 a total of 22 new trains will gradually be introduced to allow for more frequent trains.
