Tram Route T3 Opens in Marseille

Celebration have taken place on Rue de Rome to mark the opening of the third tram route in Marseille. The northern route T3 shares its tracks with T2 between Arenc Le Silo and Belsunce Alcazar.

Marseille Tram Route T3

This new route has an extra 1.2 kilometres which run along the streets of Rue de Rome, with 4 stops serving the shopping areas. The end of the line is in Castellane, where there is an interchange with the metro line M2.

The line development has taken two and a half years and has cost 57.4 million. Development includes provision of additional reversing facilities at Arenc Le Silo. Another part of the development includes an extra six trams, which have been ordered from Bombardier.
