Sensor Technology for Trains

Our sensor technology products measure from the outside of the tank – nothing on the inside. This is a huge advantage on waste tanks. In addition, our products are very easy to mount on existing tanks. A lot of time and work is saved. Our products work on all tank materials, both metal and plastic.

Never before has it been so easy to install a tank monitor system.

Tank Level Indicators for Toilet Tanks on Trains

We develop and offer tank level indicators for toilet tanks on trains. These sensors are mounted on the outside of the tank – nothing inside of the tank. The tank gauges can easily communicate with the control system and they also have built-in Bluetooth.

Tank Sensor Technology with Bluetooth

You could say “Knock and listen” but it’s more sophisticated than that. The sensor technology is built on a method of monitoring local, mechanical properties of a fluid tank.

A Gobius sensor exerts force onto a tank wall and causes it to vibrate. An accelerometer is part of the sensor and it measures the vibrations caused by the force and transmits the signal to the sensor processor. The processor’s algorithm calculates a vibration value each time the sensor performs a measurement.

For many years, we have sold our unique measuring method to manufacturers of recreational boats in Europe, USA and Australia. That is, the measurement technique is well proven on many tanks with different shapes, materials and tank wall thickness.

In 2021, Alstom in England started installing our Gobius Pro products on hundreds of train sets.
