We see thrilling competitions in the sports venues, a great atmosphere in the stands and along the streets.
The metro will also deliver a high performance, transporting over 10,000 athletes, at least twice as many officials and around 15 million sports enthusiasts and tourists through the city center and the outer rings over the three weeks.
Similar to the athletes, performance needs preparation here too. The RATP Dev set the course back in 2015. 131 new Metros were ordered. A total of seven different Alstom plants were involved in the production of the rubber-tyred vehicles (type MP14).
Up to 15 bogies, i.e. 30 wheelsets per week, had to be joined in LeCreusot on our RADS wheelset press. One train almost every week for this major project. Since July, a frequency of 105 seconds has been possible on line 14.
Hats off.
We are happy and proud to play a part in the success of the games, and especially in the driving experience in these state-of-the-art vehicles.
