CoMech Metrology is a leading calibration specialist based in Derby, who have been operating within the rail industry for over 35 years.

The current collection of services offered by CoMech includes rail gauge design, asset management and in-house and on-site calibration of metrology equipment to help keep the rail network moving. While our roots are firmly within the rail sector, our services have also played a fundamental part for businesses within other engineering-centred sectors.

Precision engineering is at the forefront of CoMech’s operations. Our UKAS accredited laboratories are well-equipped for torque, pressure, mechanical, electrical and MiniProf calibrations, repairs and maintenance.

Calibration of Rail Equipment

Precise measurement of metrology equipment is crucial for engineering and operations. CoMech provide UKAS calibrations on a wealth of measuring equipment types, including torque wrenches, multimeters, gauges, crimp tools and much more.

Rail Gauge Design

CoMech hold a wide range of rail gauges. We implement our own processes for the design, CAD draughting and technical documentation to bring detailed stress analysis and performance calculations for the array of bespoke gauges we offer. Our gauges are used across the country on the railway and rolling stock.

Rail Asset Management

We offer much more than calibration to our clients; we also help businesses manage the tracking and maintenance associated with their items via our asset management software. TrackRecordPro has been designed and developed in-house with the customer in mind. Individuals across all areas of a business can use the software for a multitude of different functions.

Employees within a business can utilise the various features within TrackRecordPro to their own advantage. These features include instant messaging, asset tracking and the management of their associated compliance and technical documentation.

MiniProf UK

CoMech Metrology are pleased to be the MiniProf UK and Ireland agents for the supply, calibration and maintenance of Greenwood Engineering’s profile measuring instruments. The range of units are beneficial for monitoring track, wheel and brake wear on the railway network. They are becoming increasingly world renowned with thousands of users in over 50 countries.
