The Stockholm Extended Metro Administration has awarded Siemens Mobility the contract to deliver the rectifier and network substations for the expansion of the Stockholm Metro.

This contract is part of the extension works on the yellow metro line, which will run from Odenplan to Arenastaden, and an extension of the blue line to Barkarby in the northwest and to Mack and Söderord in the southeast. The blue line will also be linked with the green line at Hagsätra station and a new section will be built between Fridhemsplan and Älvsjö. The project has a total value of around 21 million euros. Construction will begin right away and continue over several years. Siemens Mobility will deliver on this contract gradually over the course of the construction period.

The specific for Siemens Mobility’s contract for the Stockholm Metro are as follows:

  • The design, installation, delivery, management, testing, commissioning and documentation for 15 rectifier substations, 28 network substations and a cable contract for a fully functioning installation
  • The rectifier substation will consist largely of 36kV switchgear, rectifiers, DC switchgear and 750V, control units with auxiliary current supply systems
  • The network substation will consist largely of 36kV switchgear, transformer 33 / 0.42kV and a control system
  • The cable contract comprises 33kV and 750kV cables for the section from Akalla and Barkarby
  • Functional responsibility for all components
