New £3m Beckton DLR Depot Contract Win

In partnership with Buckingham Group Contracting, Emeg has secured a major package of work as part of the £100m Beckton DLR depot extension project, due to be completed by March 2022.

The works are being split into several contracts, which will see the maintenance and stabling facilities extended to handle a new fleet of Docklands Light Railway trains. Buckingham Group and Emeg Rail Systems have been confirmed as the contractors to deliver the Beckton Depot Northern Sidings package, worth £26m.

New £3m Beckton DLR Depot Contract WinEmeg’s focus will be on the maintenance depot, including the supply and installation of a new Carriage Wash Machine, the provision of Mechanical, Engineering & Plumbing (MEP) services, a full upgrade of the Non-Vital Equipment Room (NVER) switchgear including UPS, staged 48-hour possessions for major 650v signalling power upgrades and fibre optic network, 15-metre high-mast area lighting, full low-voltage distribution network, site wide CCTV including British Transport Police integration, sitewide Wi-Fi, plus water and power distribution.

Emeg’s state-of-the-art eWash Carriage Wash Machine incorporates rainwater harvesting and wash-recycled water making it a versatile, efficient and eco-friendly depot solution.
