Next month, InnoTrans 2026 will feature almost 300 exhibitors presenting new products and concepts for rail vehicle interiors, with a focus on passenger comfort, maintenance, operational efficiency and sustainability.
The Interiors segment will cover around 15,000 square metres across Halls 1.1, 3.1 and 5.1 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Exhibitors from Europe, Africa and the Middle East will present seating systems, fastening solutions, safety equipment and digital technologies for rail interiors.
InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz said:The vehicle interior is becoming increasingly important for the rail industry: this is where passengers’ expectations meet operators’ requirements head-on. Today, comfort and attractive design must be taken into account just as much as ease of maintenance, cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The Exhibitors at InnoTrans are demonstrating how innovative materials, smart technologies and new concepts bring these requirements together.
Among the products on display will be a wall-mounted seating concept from Italian company Clerprem. The design leaves more of the floor area unobstructed, which the company says can make cleaning and maintenance easier.
German company Gottlieb Binder will present its TUFF (touch-activated ultra-thin film fasteners) fastening systems. The solutions are designed to allow floor coverings to be secured without tools and removed for replacement or maintenance.
Spanish company Luznor Desarrollos Electrónicos will showcase a programmable LED signal light for rail applications. The system can be used as a light source and as a safety light during maintenance and inspection activities, rail vehicle movements, evacuations and other operational situations.
Meanwhile, the Travel Catering & Comfort Services (TCCS) segment will feature 18 exhibitors, including several companies exhibiting at InnoTrans for the first time. These include Bucher Group, Kugel Elektro- & Metalltechnik, IVS Rail and DE. CAP.
The wider Interiors segment will also address design, passenger experience and the use of materials.
On 23 September, the International Design Forum at the International Design Centre Berlin will examine approaches to mobility interior design under the theme “Holistic, resilient and user-oriented – cross-sector strategies for successful interior solutions.”
The International Rail Catering Group will hold its Hospitality Forum on the same day, focusing on developments and future concepts for railway catering.
Furthermore, the supporting programme will include a contribution from the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy (CCPE). The organisation will discuss approaches to the circular economy and how post-consumer plastics could be reused in industrial applications.
