Stadler has received an order for 19 Citylink fully electric tram-trains from the Chemnitz transport authority, with the option to purchase an additional 27 vehicles.
These will help better connect the wider Chemnitz area with the city centre by offering an improved direct service.
The fully electric three-part tram-trains are 37.5 metres long and can carry up to 236 passengers, with seating for 88.
They can be operated via 600/750V DC tram power in the city centre or 15,000V AC railway power in the wider area and travel up to 100 kilometres an hour.
They also come equipped with a dynamic passenger information system and a radio-controlled blind information system.
This latest order will bring the number of Stadler vehicles ordered by the Chemnitz transport body to 61.

The new vehicles are scheduled to enter passenger service by the middle of 2026.
