CAF has been selected to supply 42 TW 4000 LRVs for ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG, the public transport operator in the city of Hannover, Germany.
The contract also includes an optional extension to supply up to 233 additional units.
The new units will also enhance the experience for ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe’s passengers by offering improved accessibility, passenger information systems and comfort.
Hannover is the capital of the state of Lower Saxony, with more than one million inhabitants. The first vehicles are scheduled for delivery to the city’s Stadtbahn network in the second half of 2025.
This contract builds upon CAF’s recent successes in the German market, including a contract with VRR and NWL for the supply of 63 battery-powered trains and an order to supply LRVs for the cities of Essen and Bonn.
