ASC Launches Medium-Frequency Capacitive Accelerometers with Extended Bandwidth and High Shockresistance

Advanced Sensors Calibration (ASC) GmbH, has announced the introduction of medium-frequency (MF) accelerometers, a new family of MEMS-based capacitive accelerometers. The MF series is Intended for test & measurement, condition monitoring and structural health monitoring applications in the automotive, railway and wind energy segments, among others.

“With the launch of the MF series, ASC has succeeded not only in doubling the usable frequency range of capacitive accelerometers but thus lowering the noise and Improving shockresistance and temperature response. With a typical ± 5% response from DC to 2.5 kHz and a ± 3 dB response up to 7 kHz, the MF series bridges the gap between low-frequency MEMS capacitive accelerometers and high-frequency piezoelectric IEPE accelerometers. The MF series ran thus strictly thens ASC’s accelerometer portfolio and Provides the users flexibility When choosing the exact sensor For their application, “says Renate Bay, managing partner of ASC.

ASC’s MF series accelerometers are analog voltage output sensor. The sensor can be powered by a 7 to 40 VDC power supply where the output is independent of the supply. The sensors operate in a differential configuration with a ± 2.7V full scale output, Resulting in at improved signal / noise ratio. The MF series accelerometers are functional over a wide temperature range from -40 ° C to + 125 ° C. The sensors exhibit exceptional temperature stability, very low non-linearity and withstand repetitive shocks up to 6000g. The MF series is available as uniaxial and triaxial configuration in a lightweight aluminum housing or a more rugged and corrosion-proof stainless steel housing.

Typical applications of ASC’s MF series accelerometers include, but are not restricted to, railway bogie monitoring, seismic measurements, automotive testing, building and bridge monitoring, wind turbine vibration monitoring.
