Alstom to Supply 17 Additional Coradia Stream Electric Trains in Romania

The Romanian Railway Reform Authority (ARF) has contracted Alstom to supply an additional 17 Coradia Stream inter-regional trains.

Alstom will also provide 15 years of associated maintenance services for the vehicles.

These trains will supplement the 20 Coradia Stream trains that were ordered under the same contract in March 2022.

The final configuration, colours and finishes will be fully customised according to the requirements of the Contracting Authority

The Coradia Stream trains will be equipped with the ERTMS Level 2 traffic control system and will be capable of operating on all the main European power supply systems at a maximum speed of 160 kilometres per hour.

Each low-floor electric multiple unit (EMU) will have six cars, providing a total of 350 seats. They will also be equipped with a digital system for passenger counting with high-precision sensors.

This order builds upon Alstom’s existing presence in Romania, where it has been active for almost 30 years.
