UK: Transport Ticketing and Passenger Information Global Summit 2016

The eighth annual Transport Ticketing and Passenger Information Global Summit will take place from 26-28 January 2016 at Old Billingsgate, London. Tickets can still be booked to attend.

The three day event will host more than 700 delegates from 50 countries, convening to explore and discuss the latest innovations and developments in smart ticketing in the transit industry.

Transport Transport Ticketing and Passenger Information Global Summit Speakers

Speakers include a broad selection of public and private sector innovators, who will share their unique insight into ticketing and passenger information. The first speaker will be Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport Claire Perry.

Lauren Sager Weistein, Head of Analytics at Transport for London will then give a presentation on understanding how passengers choose to travel and consume data and look at projected forecasts for modal shifts and how the industry should adapt.

Justin Stenner, Head of Technology for Heathrow Express, will lead a panel discussion on what the public transport industry may take from the experiences of the aviation sector in delivering updates to their ticketless platforms. Michael Devitto, Vice President and Program Executive, Fare Payment Programs at the Metropolitan Transport Authority New York, will lead a second panel discussion on what to expect from the next year in transport technology.

Mark Kipling, Director of Bahrain Public Transport Company will share his case study from Bahrains accelerated transport programme, explaining how the country has moved from traditional conductors to smartcard technology in only six months.

Other speakers include Chantal Greenwood, Manager of Automated Fare Collection at Transport for Cape Town, who will give a speech on integrated intelligent transport systems for public transport in Cape Town and Dimiter Dimitrov, CEO for Tickey who will discuss the ways in which mobile ticketing has redefined the railway environment in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Transport Ticketing & Passenger Information Global Awards

The Transport Ticketing & Passenger Information Global Awards, in partnership with PayPal, will recognise organisations and individuals who have made notable contributions in the establishment and delivery of smart ticketing programmes in Europe.

This event will take place at the iconic London Transport Museum on 26 January 2016. Categories include best smart card ticketing service, most successful mobile ticketing programme, ticketing technology of the year, best customer serving operator, industry contributor and most innovative real-time passenger information initiative.

EMV Transport Forum

The EMV Transport Forum, which will take place at the Summit, is the UKs first niche industry meeting place. It will focus on the hands-dirty aspect of the successful implementation of EMV transport ticketing.

Transport Transport Ticketing and Passenger Information Global Expo

The Summit will host representatives from the Department of Transport, Consult Hyperion, ATOC, Ridango, Connexxion, Bytemark Inc, Global Travel Ventures and Go Ahead Group, while partners and sponsors include Visa, Fujitsu, Vix Technology, Parkeon, Cubic, Snapper, EOS Uptrade, Hacon, Scheidt & Bachmann and Thales who will all be showcasing their innovations and products in ticketing and passenger information.

The exhibition, which will run in parallel to the Summit, will provide delegate with an opportunity to see the latest technologies first-hand and meet face-to-face with potential and existing suppliers.
