Deutsche Bahn has announced it has ordered 23 new long-distance trains from Spanish manufacturer Talgo.
As part of a Europe-wide tender, Deutsche Bahn awarded the contract for new long-distance trains to Talgo. In particular, the framework contract is for up to 100 trains, consisting of electric locomotives and carriages. In an initial order Deutsche Bahn has also ordered 23 trains for a sum of 550 million euros.
The first of these trains are to enter service in 2023.
