Rail signalling equipment—integral to maintaining secure and synchronized train operations—benefits from our high-performance voltage stabilizers and conversion systems. Products like the CS-MV bidirectional converters, engineered for converting high-voltage DC from rail catenary systems to standard AC outputs, are instrumental in ensuring signalling and control systems operation. Furthermore, our DC POWER-S systems, with their modular rectifier technology and high-density power modules, provide a scalable solution for both urban and regional rail networks, supporting critical communication and monitoring systems that keep rail operations safe and punctual.
In parallel, the interior train doors demand integrated electronic power systems that provide smooth, rapid actuation and reliable operation in varying environmental conditions. Global Rail and Transport Solutions by Salicru
Salicru has consistently demonstrated its advanced power protection systems leadership in providing advanced power protection systems across a diverse range of critical infrastructures. In Spain, for the AVE Madrid-Sevilla project, marking the 30th anniversary of the country’s first high-speed rail line, Salicru supplied over 100 units, including SLC ADAPT2 and SLC CUBE3+ UPS systems, voltage stabilizers (EMI3), rectifiers (DC POWER-S), and transformers (IT). These devices protect control systems, signalling equipment, and points of switching across an almost 500 kilometre network. This project builds on Salicru’s extensive experience in high-speed rail, with installations already present in networks such as Madrid–Lleida–Barcelona, Barcelona–Figueres, Vandellós–Camp de Tarragona, La Sacra–Toledo, Córdoba–Málaga, Segovia–Valladolid, and Madrid–Extremadura. As well as international projects in Turkey, Makkah (Saudi Arabia), and the Cairo–Alexandria corridor in Egypt.
Further underscoring its global footprint, Salicru has also played a pivotal role in the Tren Maya project in Mexico. Here, modular UPS systems safeguard interlocking, signalling, and control systems along over 1,500 kilometres of railway between Chiapas and Yucatán. In addition to equipment supply, Salicru provides comprehensive technical training, ensuring that maintenance personnel are fully versed in the system’s operation.
In another landmark project, Salicru supplied new UPS systems and battery racks to the Medina–La Meca high-speed rail corridor in Saudi Arabia. Utilizing the SLC CUBE3+ and SLC ADAPT series, these systems guarantee between 2 and 10 hours of autonomy. Installed at the Haramain Railway OCC, these units protect critical operational systems in an environment that serves millions of annual pilgrims across more than 400 kilometers of track.
Salicru’s influence extends to urban transport as well as underground. For the expansion of Santo Domingo’s Metro Line 2 in the Dominican Republic, Salicru provided SLC ADAPT2 UPS units and DC systems. This subway project—encompassing over 7 kilometres of new track and five new stations, with an investment exceeding 500 million dollars—ensures the continuous operation of signalling, control, and communication systems for nearly one million passengers.
Salicru was also selected to install all UPS and battery chargers for supply energy to the interlocking equipments for Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC, Spain). This tender requires each interlocking to feature a compact UPS module (up to 20 kVA) that integrates batteries and electronics in one front-access cabinet, delivering 60 minutes of autonomy. The equipment auto-detects and configures according to input voltage and complies with UNE-EN 50124-4 and UNE-EN 50121-5 standards. Connectivity with the existing UNMS II monitoring system and Nimbus Cloud mobile app enables proactive maintenance, supported by Salicru’s 24/7 technical service with a maximum 2 hour response time. This project builds on Salicru’s established presence in Catalan railway infrastructures, where DC POWER-L rectifiers have been successfully deployed in 13 energy substations to protect critical DC loads with thyristor-based technology.
Through these landmark projects, Salicru continues to set new standards in energy protection and reliability for the rail and transport sectors worldwide.
