Sanitary Systems, Interior Door Systems and Entrance Systems for Railway Rolling Stock
Dowaldwerke is a company of the Richard Grießbach Holding, an owner-managed, medium-sized group of companies with about 300 employees. We develop and produce vacuum toilets, gangway doors, interior doors, partition walls and entrance systems for railway vehicle manufacturers in Europe.
We employ a large part of our resources in the field of development and design. This enables us to react promptly to developments in the market as well as to new customer requirements.
Sanitary Systems
Dowaldwerke has more than 20 years of experience in developing and manufacturing vacuum toilet systems for railway rolling stock. Our systems include the toilet itself together with the control unit with hard- and software. All mentioned components are developed and manufactured within our group. This puts us in the position to offer the complete package of hard- and software together with the engineering support required by our customers.
Condition Based Maintenance
Dowaldwerke has introduced a vacuum toilet system for rail vehicles with condition-based maintenance. While conventional systems have to undergo a service according to a fixed schedule as defined by the manufacturer, maintenance for Dowaldwerke’s new system is carried out according to the real condition of critical components.
Interior Door Systems and Compartment Partitions
Door guides and door systems as well as compartment and engine room partitions by Dowald meet all requirements of the rail vehicle industry. Dowald equips regional train vehicles, streetcars and high-speed trains. Gangway doors are available as well as specially designed interior doors with floor drive. We provide door systems for manual operation and with pneumatic or electrical drives. Communication with the vehicle can be realised by bus-connection or by wire.
Door Systems for toilet cabins – straight or curved versions – have been part of Dowald’s portfolio for a long time, frequently in combination with toilet systems. Communication is performed directly with the control system of the cabin.
Fire Protection
Dowald door systems and compartment partitions can be equipped to comply with fire protection standards. They come with E15/I15 and, as an option, with E30/I30.
Entrance Systems
Dowald develops and produces customer-specific entrance systems for rail vehicles. This equipment is available for in-floor and underfloor installation.
The range of products also includes train driver access ramps and special ramps for wheelchair users/people with disabilities. Communication between the exterior door and vehicle can be achieved by bus-communication or hard-wiring. The software certificate according to the agreed SIL-level is included as standard.
Dowald also offers customer-specific manual flap ramps, which can be installed within minimal space and provide optimum usability.
