Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have issued Requests for Proposals (RFP) for two Ontario Line works packages: the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations and the Elevated Guideway and Stations.
These contracts will contribute to the delivery of the 15.6-kilometre Ontario Line, which will provide a rapid transit service to connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place in Toronto via 15 stations.
Following a Request for Qualifications process that began in November 2022, six teams have been shortlisted and invited to bid on these packages.
Three teams will be considered for the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations package:
- Community Transit Link, consisting of STRABAG and Arup Canada
- Pape North Connect, made up of Webuild, FCC CONSTRUCCIÓN, IBI Group Professional Services and AECOM Canada
- Trillium Subway Partners, including Acciona Infrastructure Canada, Eiffage Innovative Canada, Amico Infrastructures, WSP Canada, Typsa Canada and LEA Consulting
Meanwhile, three teams have been shortlisted for the Elevated Guideway and Stations package:
- Rail Connect Partnership, comprised of SNC-Lavalin, Bird Construction, TY Lin International Canada and Entuitive Corporation
- Transit Expansion North, consisting of Pomerleau, Aecon Infrastructure Management, Bouygues Travaux Publics, Parsons and SYSTRA International Bridge Technologies Canada
- Trillium Guideway Partners, which includes Acciona Infrastructure Canada, Amico Infrastructures, Dufferin Construction Company and WSP Canada
Once the teams have developed detailed proposals, their plans will be reviewed by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx.
The chosen teams will then work in collaboration with Metrolinx during a development phase, which is expected to begin in 2024.
