Gurgaon’s Rapid Metro Rail has arrived in the city and is set to commence trial runs in a fortnight, with operations due to begin in March.
Operations set to begin as scheduled
With the first train having already arrived, the final four are set to arrive by December. Integration of components and the laying of tracks have begun ahead of the trials runs that will commence on October 2nd. Commercial operations should begin as scheduled in March.
Network accessible to existing Metro users
The network, which is forecast to be used by 100,000 commuters in its first year, will be included in the price of tickets for the Delhi Metro, meaning a separate ticket will not be required.
Second phase
Once the network is up-and-running in March, work on the second phase of the project will begin. This will include the extension of the network in the direction of Sectors 55-56 as well as Udyog Vihar.
