On Saturday 13th June, Mosdorfer Rail Ltds. Operations Manager, Craig Wainwright, will be taking on the incredible Race Against the Sun Challenge in the beautiful Lake District. This demanding dawn-to-dusk event is designed to test both physical endurance and determination, and Craig will be joined by five friends as they push themselves through a triple-discipline challenge, all while raising money for an outstanding cause.
The challenge consists of three stages:
- A 23-mile bike ride featuring a thrilling descent through the stunning Grizedale Forest.
- A 6-mile hike up the iconic Old Man of Coniston, including a tough 800-metre ascent completed in less than 2.5 miles.
- A 2-mile kayak paddle across the famous Coniston Water, providing a final test of stamina after a long day of cycling and hiking.
Craig and his team are undertaking this challenge to raise funds for Action Medical Research, a children’s charity that has spent more than 70 years funding vital medical research. Their work helps improve the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people across the UK.
The charity supports groundbreaking research aimed at reducing premature births, helping children who face lifelong challenges caused by disabilities, and developing innovative treatments for rare and currently incurable diseases. Their work has contributed to many medical breakthroughs that have transformed and saved lives.
