Beating competitors Solaris and CAF, PESA Bydgoszcz has submitted the best offer for a contract to supply Warsaw Tramways with a fleet of 45 bidirectional low-floor LRV’s accompanied with a five year warranty.
The Polish railway vehicle manufacturing company placed a bid of 377.4 million Zlotys ($119.2 million) for the contract beating CAF’s bid of 573.2 million Zlotys and Solaris’ offer of 481.4 million Zlotys. The tender was decided with both price and technical parameters taken into account with price being scored at 60%, helping PESA win the contract.
PESA Ligh Rail Vehicles
PESA are set to deliver the new vehicles within 15 months of signing the contract which will be 32.5 metres long and will come fully equipped with air-conditioning, CCTV and modern passenger information systems.
PESA rail vehicles already make up a sizeable chunk of Warsaw Tramways operating fleet and they recently received the last of 186 order for 30.1 metre long, five-section Swing 120Na LRV’s which were ordered in May 2009 costing 1.5 billion Zlotys
