Knorr-Bremse and CAF have signed a maintenance framework agreement that includes maintaining the braking systems, HVAC systems and entrance systems installed in a number of different CAF vehicle classes such as metro and regional trains.

The contract has an initial runtime of eight years.

Jürgen Wilder, Member of the Executive Board, Knorr-Bremse AG, said:

With a global presence that’s embedded at local level, our worldwide service offering for rail vehicles is one of the mainstays of our business, putting us right next to our customers.

That’s why we’re delighted that CAF has reaffirmed their confidence in us by entering into this global service agreement and relying once again on the systems expertise, tailored services portfolio and solution-finding abilities of Knorr-Bremse RailServices. Through our services, we’re supporting CAF’s efforts to safeguard train operating life by helping to improve on-track availability and provide attractive mobility options to the general public.

The agreement provides a comprehensive technical and commercial framework, which means the two companies will not have to spend much time and effort in the future negotiating maintenance contracts. Instead, individual contracts can be easily absorbed into this agreement and adapted to the specific vehicle maintenance requirements, which is more efficient.
