As part of a banking club, KfW IPEX-Bank arranges and provides funding in the amount of SEK 728 million for new high-speed trains for the Arlanda express, the non-stop railway connection between Stockholm and its international Arlanda Airport.

The financing supports the procurement of seven new electric multiple units made in Europe which will replace the existing fleet by 2030.

The Arlanda express ensures fast and climate-friendly transport powered by 100% by renewable energy. The journey by train lasts only 18 minutes which is significantly faster than travelling by car. Arlanda express is owned and operated by A-Train AB.

With this financing, KfW IPEX-Bank supports European manufacturers of state-of-the-art rolling stock and contributes to the decarbonisation and attractiveness of public transport in Europe. Furthermore, the bank increases its footprint financing transportation infrastructure within the Nordics.
