intreXis: AC/DC Converter

The new AC/DC Converter showcases our commitment and the consistent further development of intreXis converters for a wide range of rail applications.

There is no doubt that DC/DC Converters are the main converter types used in rail vehicles. However, there are applications in which AC/DC Converters are more suitable. For example, if the on-board power supply is not to be loaded further and reserve power is available from the auxiliary converter. Or wherever AC voltage is already available and there is no need to lay additional cables.

The new converter is a convincing solution, with its compact design, 21 mm flat construction and weight of just 99 g. The wide input voltage range of 85 to 264 VAC also allows it to be used in a wide variety of applications. The 50-Watt AC/DC Converter shown at InnoTrans is the first in a series of other new intreXis AC/DC converters in the higher power range. Stay tuned.
