It isn’t often that we get to board a London Underground tube that looks and smells this new and shiny.
At InnoTrans 2026, Siemens Mobility has showcased its new Piccadilly line trains for Transport for London (TfL). Take a look at the new trains in pictures from InnoTrans 2026…
The fleet will replace the existing 1973 Stock trains currently operating on the line. They feature an open gangway design, creating more space for passengers to move through the train.
Siemens also notes that the trains offer improved accessibility, air conditioning and real-time passenger information.
They have been designed with wider doors and more standing space to support faster boarding and alighting.
The first new Piccadilly line trains are expected to enter passenger service from 2026, with the full fleet introduced progressively.
