HÜBNER: After Sales & Service for Railway Vehicles
HÜBNER’s After Sales & Service for railway vehicles supports its customers throughout the whole life cycle of rail vehicles.
Huschke Diekmann to Start as New Global Head of Rail Division
The HÜBNER Group is setting the course for more growth in its rail business with a number of important structural and personnel decisions. The Kassel-based company is bringing together its diverse rail-based businesses – with gangway systems for railway vehicles, chassis components for railway cars, entry systems for trams, and cockpit displays for railway vehicles.
In addition to its activities with gangway systems, where HÜBNER is the global market leader, HÜBNER’s rail business is made up of the companies HTG, Hemscheidt and Gersys. The restructuring should bring the activities of all of these companies closer together, particularly in the area of sales and distribution. Huschke Diekmann has assumed responsibility for the newly organized unit as global head of the Rail segment.
This should also enable HÜBNER to react more quickly to evolving customer needs on a worldwide basis. The company is active in all parts of the world and has more than 30 locations around the globe. Diekmann, who will be in charge of global rail business activities going forward, has more than 20 years of experience in the field of railway technology, and for the last eight years has served as managing director at Wabtec/GE Transportation. In this position, he was responsible among other things for the company’s business development in Europe, Russia, North Africa and the Middle East.
“With this new organization, we want to improve our capacity to provide a comprehensive package of offerings for customers in the rail market, drawing from what has now become an extensive portfolio of products.”
The second largest business segment of the HÜBNER Group – Material Solutions – is also under new leadership. HÜBNER General Manager Ingolf Cedra has also taken on the function of head of Material Solutions in addition to his other responsibilities. The position was previously held by Tobias Lexhaller, who has now left the company. Lexhaller came to the company as managing director of the Gummi Welz Group (GWU).
HÜBNER took over the GWU Group last year with its five manufacturing facilities in Europe, the brands GWU and Plastocell and the web shop platino24 so as to consolidate its leading market position in the field of door safety and sealing products for public transport and to expand into new product, market and customer segments. With the acquisition, the worldwide sales volume of the Material Solutions business segment doubled in size with its various activities providing sophisticated solutions and products made of elastomers, insulation and composite materials. The HÜBNER Material Solutions business segment also opened a new location in Dunlap, Tennessee, in the USA to supply customers in the American market.
As a global system supplier for the mobility industry, for manufacturing and for life sciences and research applications, the HÜBNER Group is the worldwide leader in gangway systems for buses and railway vehicles (Mobility), a well-recognized specialist for sophisticated elastomer solutions and products, insulation and composite materials (Material Solutions), as well as a supplier for applications in the field of laser, terahertz and high frequency technologies (Photonics). The HÜBNER Group employs more than 3,500 persons worldwide. In addition to the headquarters in Kassel, Germany, HÜBNER has established more than 30 locations around the world.
