Our innovative cable troughing ARCOSYSTEM® was successfully fixed to a trackside rock wall during a challenging installation.
The job took place in the historic city of Grein, based along the Danube river in northern Austria. The GRP composite ARCOSYSTEM® troughing was installed along a railway route of 600 metres, and at one point needed to be fastened to an ancient rock face.
Installers used specialist anchor rods in conjunction with our bespoke range of laser-cut steel bracketry to support the lightweight troughing, which contains and protects the rail line’s power and digital cables. The route also required the on-site operators to attach the troughing to trackside railings and a concrete verge backing onto the river.
The project highlighted yet again the flexibility of the elevated ARCOSYSTEM®. Manufactured from pultruded glass fibre reinforced polymers (FRP/GRP), ARCOSYSTEM® can be post-mounted, wall-hung, or clamped to a variety of trackside furniture such as railings, bridges, hillsides, HEA beams, noise barriers, or rock walls. The sleek and adaptable construction of the troughing means height and directional adjustments can be easily made, while its robust structure provides durability in all climates, with a broad working temperature range of -40˚C to +80˚C.
There is a choice of trough sizes and bracket designs available to meet the requirements of any installation job in the rail sector or the wider engineering field.
