This is the continuation of a long-term partnership between the two organisations, which have worked together since 1913.

This latest contract is worth 33 million euros (37.30m USD) and covers preventive and corrective maintenance of signalling devices and installations on nine lines of the Paris metro and seven tramway lines for the next four years.

Hitachi Rail’s maintenance teams will be available 24 hours a day, and the scope of work also includes assisting the RATP with track work when necessary.

Gilles Pascault, President of Hitachi Rail in France, said:

This contract is proof of RATP’s confidence in the services and technologies deployed by Hitachi Rail to contribute to sustainable urban mobility projects in Ile-de-France.

Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, Hitachi Rail’s teams remain determined and committed to partnering with their client to provide maintenance services that meet the highest standards, to ensure the continuity, reliability and safety of transport for essential workers every day.
