Eurotunnel Freight Transport Millionth Truck of 2016
Eurotunnel has announced that its freight service, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Freight, has set a new record by transporting its millionth truck of 2016. This is a month ahead of the same number that Eurotunnel Freight transported in 2015. In the period since November 2015, truck shuttles have broken records every month as set against the same periods in former years.
The achievement marks a growing take-up of rail freight between the UK and continental mainland, and also Eurotunnel’s continued importance as a link between the UK and the rest of Europe, with more than 1.5 million trucks passing through the Channel Tunnel annually. The Channel Tunnel is a fast, secure and easy mode of transportation, carrying 21 million passengers each year.
