Please join us in welcoming Paul Cussen to the Emeg Group as Project Director, with responsibility for leading our project team at the Beckton DLR depot in East London.
Paul is actually re-joining Emeg having served 2 years with us as Operations Manager then Operations Director back in 2014 where he was heavily involved with all aspects of the Emeg rail operation, from pre-qualification through to the successful delivery and hand back of contracts. Projects included the Lincoln and Scarborough Station train watering upgrades, Etches Park fuelling and watering upgrades, Northampton Station redevelopment, Crossrail enabling Abbey Wood Station, and Euston Station concourse retail upgrade.
Paul holds qualifications in Management & Leadership, Operational Business Management, Electrical Installation, Occupational Health & Safety, and Personal Track Safety. An established Project & Operations Manager, Paul has successfully delivered MEP & Comms installations to a broad range of industry sectors, including power generation, hospitals, airports, pharmaceuticals, hotels, CERs, SERs, control centres and tram depot expansions.
Most recently, Paul has been involved in delivering the MEP and SISS fit-out of the new Barking Riverside Station for the Morgan Sindall – Volker Fitzpatrick joint venture on behalf of Transport for London (TfL).
A time-served Electrician with 35 years of hands-on experience, Paul has progressed through Supervisory, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Operations Director roles and has spent the last 20 years as a disciplined, professional Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager within the rail infrastructure industry. His vast experience includes new-build overground stations, tube stations and major London mainline station refits, network-wide, multi-site projects and depots for London Underground, TfL, Network Rail and Birmingham Metro.
Paul has an enviable track record of establishing excellent working relationships with all relevant stakeholders on large-scale projects. He is dedicated to meeting project timelines and budgets while seeking value engineering opportunities and improvements to productivity through management and coordination of all stakeholders, suppliers and delivery teams, including identification and management of change. Paul is highly experienced working within NEC project management contracts.
