Thanks to its shallow installation depth, compact mono-block design and wide variety of front designs, Series 51 is suited to almost unlimited applications and uses. As an expert partner for Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), EAO is now expanding Series 51 with an additional HMI function – a buzzer for acoustic feedback.
With its rectangular housing, the buzzer blends seamlessly into the Series 51 design, enabling a consistent, coherent look across control panels – from pushbutton to indicator light to buzzer. With appropriate wiring, the Series 51 buzzer can generate either a continuous tone or an intermittent tone (~2-3 Hz*). This means a single HMI component can cover both a warning and an alarm function. Panel developers therefore benefit from simpler bills of materials and fewer qualification steps. The volume of the acoustic signal, with a sound pressure level of 88 dB(A), can be adapted to industrial environments, and the wide voltage range of 10–26 VAC/VDC up to 10–75 VDC* allows for highly flexible use across diverse applications.
The buzzer shows its strengths especially in applications with frequently recurring signals, such as machine alarms or vehicle warning systems. As it contains no mechanically moving parts or contacts, no mechanical wear occurs even with intensive use. This ensures high reliability throughout the product’s service life and keeps maintenance requirements to a minimum.
